Kazakh security forces found in Almaty a few secret burials of radicals who took part in the riots in early January. This was told “Interfax” in the city department of police.
According to the department, such graves digged out to make it difficult to identify the dead participants in the pogroms. At the same time, where the burials were specifically discovered, law enforcement officers did not specify. “The quantity and place of burials are of operational interest. In this regard, they are not subject to disclosure,” said the official representative of the police Saltanat Azirbeck.
Earlier, the President of Kazakhstan Kasim-Zhomart Tokayev said that during the riots, organized groups of radicals made attacks on the morgue, “they took and hurt their dead accomplices.” He suggested that the attackers tried to hide their membership in international terrorist organizations.
