Conclusion of long-term contracts with suppliers for gas purchases will be able to solve energy crisis in Europe. Such a method called in an interview with TASS Foreign Minister of Hungary Peter Siyarthto.
“I believe that the keys to the solution of the gas crisis in Europe will be filling the gas storage facilities and the conclusion of long-term contracts with suppliers,” he said.
In particular, Siyarthto said, Prime Minister of Hungary Victor Orban during a visit to Moscow on February 1 intends to discuss the issue of expanding the gas contract with Russia.
At the end of August 2021, Hungary and Russia agreed on a new multi-year agreement on the supply of Russian gas. It is designed for 15 years with the possibility of changing the volume of gas purchases in 10 years. According to agreements, Gazprom will supply 4.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Hungary
