Estonian Prime Minister Kaya Callas complained that Tallinn was not invited to negotiate Russia and the United States on security in Geneva. She stated this in an interview with the French newspaper Le Figaro.
According to her, for a small country, such as Estonia, which is located on the edge of the Transatlantic Peninsula, is very important that without her participation, they do not solve their questions. “That’s why we do not like the idea of holding negotiations, which we are not invited,” – noted the premier.
Callas was also indignant because of the Russian proposals for security guarantees with the United States. She stated that the proposal to refuse NATO from the “development of the territory” of the states that entered the Alliance after 1997, simply outrageous.
Previously, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia, Alexander Grushko, said that Russia would take steps to parry the threat to their security by military means, if it would not be possible to make it political. According to him, Russia has a set of military-technical measures, legitimate, which Moscow is ready to apply if it will sense a real threat to security.
