Kudrin summed up 30th anniversary of Russia’s independence

Head of the Accounts Chamber, the former Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin during the Gaidar Forum summed up the 30th anniversary of Russia’s independence and the functioning of the domestic market economy, the correspondent “Renta.Ru” reports.

“If we talk about the results of 30 years, our economy has moved from a fully planned, with state property and fully established by the state prices, to the market. We have basic market institutions, freedom of entrepreneurship. We have restored yourself in the system of civilized market states.” – Noted Kudrin.

According to him, the reforms and restoration of the market economy, lost in the mid-1920s, occurred “quite calm.”

“If we talk about the past 30 years, each decade has made its own definite contribution. Of course, in the first 10 years, GDP in our country fell by 30 percent, and the incomes of the population – by 50. This, of course, was a heavy blow, all We are talking about the complex 90s. But it was during this period that the country passed to the new structure of the economy: from the production of military products, means of production – to the economy focused on real needs, to the market. “

2000s, according to the Head of the Accounts Chamber, were noted by the growth of GDP at the level above the world average (by 67 percent in 11 years) and the sharp rise in the standard of living. “The growth rates of the last decade were more moderate. Let’s summarize: For 30 years, Russia’s GDP is now 33 percent higher than in 1991, and the standard of living is 30 percent higher than in those years,” Kudrin concluded.
