France: teachers stated a strike

In France, primary school teachers declared a strike in protest against complex working conditions during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is reported by Kommersant.

Almost 75 percent of French teachers did not go to work due to working conditions, which are further complicated due to anticoid measures of the country’s government. The combined trade union of teachers of primary schools and lyceums believes that the Minister of Education Jean-Michel Blancer prevents educational institutions with its decisions.

According to trade unions, the sanitary protocol, which introduced the Minister of Education as a measure of countering the dissemination of COVID-19, does not protect against infection. To get the opportunity to return children to schools, parents are forced to make regular PCR tests. Therefore, parents support strike.

The Minister of Education Blanker in turn said that “do not struggle with the virus”. Trade unions consider the possibility of renewal of the action until January 14.

January 7, the London Metro Machinists announced a strike that they plan to continue before the summer. It can be the longest in the history of the transport trade union. This decision was made after refusing to lead the underground of the British capital from the class of night driver, which increased the burden on all employees.

In December 2019, a national trade union strike against pension reform was announced in France. After that, the authorities went for concessions and presented a new draft reform.
