Chubais rated future of Russian gas

Oil and gas reserves in Russia can be used in the future, even after the transformation of the world energy, and for this it is necessary to develop oil and gas chemistry, the Special Representative of the President of Russia for Relations with International Organizations on Sustainable Development Affairs Anatoly Chubais. He gave the appropriate assessment during his speech at the Gaidar Forum, the correspondent “Renta.ru” reports.

“If we take oil and see a simple proportion – a significant part is burned, in the form of gasoline, kerosene, and so on, and the part is converted into chemical products. I asked the proportion. It is approximately as follows: 85 percent – burned after refining, and 15 is used In petrochemistry. With gas even tougher proportion – 95 burned, 5 is converted. The first strategic direction is of course, the beginning of the change in this proportion. Our oil and gas resources can be used to redistribute this volume. It has now begun to do, “said Chubais.

He stressed that investments in this direction should be more. “This will use the opportunity to use our natural advantage in the form of gas reserves and then when burning will be difficult or not at all. In this sense, the essence of the strategy here, in Neftegolaze, is a radical revision and accelerating the pace of the development of oil and gas chemistry,” the president’s special representative explained.

The use of resources in energy purposes in the future is not promising against the background of an energy transfer, regardless of how much oil and gas reserves will be available. “The stone age also ended not because the stone is over. Oil will not end, the gas will not end, and the energy switch will be held,” he stressed.

The current energy strategy of Russia Chubais called the erroneous. “I have already tired of talking about this, but thank God, there is a commissioning of the president about the revision of the energy-strata not up to 2035, and until 2050. And there, of course, we will see new targets,” he said.
