Life in Russia from 2000 to 2011 increased threefold and currently 20 percent higher than in the USSR. Two epochs compared the head of the Accounts Chamber Alexey Kudrin in an interview with TASS.
He believes that in 2003-2004, the country was able to return to the level of life, which was before the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1990. At the same years, the foundations and Russia “became a normal market economy” were built, Kudrin added.
He is sure that the country will never come again to the planned economy again. “You can safely put a point in this dispute: Gosplan in Russia will never be. If, of course, something is not quite incredible. Africa is growing faster. If we start creating Mournal again, these countries will turn out to be ahead of us,” – Stressed the head of the Accounts Chamber.
Price regulation can only be on a point scale, it believes. Kudrin also said that an entrepreneurial culture is needed for economic growth, a decrease in oil dependence, the development of competition and expansion of a private initiative.
Previously, Kudrin said that the biggest challenge for the Russian economy is the energy transition. He clarified that the hydrocarbons will be required for ten more years, but they will have to be partially replaced by industrial goods and services.
