Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Alexander Grushko said that Moscow and NATO “reached the edge” in the possibility of escalation of the situation. He stated this on the basis of the meeting of the Russia-NATO Council (SRN), reports TASS.
According to him, two more weeks ago, Russian commercial aircraft had to change the route on teams from Earth, because there was a real feast of clashes with American intelligence, which fly off the coast of Russia. “This is a very dangerous thing,” the diplomat emphasized.
In addition, Grushko also noted that the problems that share Russia and NATO are quite serious. He added that it is not yet clear how they can be overcome.
Earlier, the Deputy Foreign Ministry said that Moscow expects for an unambiguous response from NATO on security guarantees proposals. According to him, in Russia they hope that the countries of the Alliance either will submit their considerations about how to go on the way to perform the proposals nominated by Moscow, or explain why they are unacceptable.
