Lithuanian authorities decided to exacerbate the conflict with Belarus and found that Belaruscalia’s contract (BKK) with “Lithuanian railways” (LUNC) is in incision with the national interests of the country. It was decided to terminate the contract from February 1. This was stated by the Minister of Transport of the Baltic Republic Marius Skodis, his words lead RIA Novosti.

Lithuanian railways with BKK signed in the spring of 2018 and should have been valid until the end of 2023. Fertilizers go to the port of Klaipeda, from where the delivery to the end buyers is being completed. The Government Commission of Lithuania at the end of 2021 decided that the contract represents a threat to the security of the country. At the same time, the leadership of Lithuanian Railways indicated that the termination of the Treaty on the supply of Belarusian fertilizers could be a bankruptcy enterprise.
Possible stopping of the transit of the Belarusian potassium through Lithuania is associated with US sanctions, which earned in early December. The list of enterprises in respect of which restrictive measures are acting, and BKK. American residents gave time until April 1 to complete transactions with her, after which cooperation could serve as a reason for sanctions already in relation to the buyer itself or counterparty.
