CSTO forces will not take part in the acceleration of demonstrations in Kazakhstan. This was stated by the Secretary-General of the organization Stanislav in an interview with RIA Novosti.
He clarified that two main tasks were set before the contingent: the protection of the most important state, strategic facilities, and assistance in maintaining law enforcement.
previously said that peacemakers arriving in Kazakhstan are the right to use weapons. However, they have the right to take advantage of them only if they attack them armed gangs.

On January 2, protests began in Kazakhstani cities due to the increase in gas prices for cars from 60 to 120 tenge. Later, they turned into disorders with the requirements of the first president of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev from politics, holding new elections and the dissolution of parliament. The most significant collisions occurred in the former capital of Alma-Ata.
