The European Union reacted to protests in Kazakhstan, calling on the part of the conflict to the peaceful settlement of the situation through a comprehensive dialogue. This is reported by TASS with reference to the statement of the EU foreign policy.
The appeal says that the dialogue built on respect for the basic rights of citizens should be kept “with all interested parties.” The EU called on the conflict participants to refrain from actions, “which may lead to further escalation of violence.”
The European Union also calls on the authorities to respect the fundamental right to peaceful protest and proportionality in the use of force in the protection of their legitimate security interests and fulfill their international obligations, “the document says.
