Pilotable launches to ISS in 2022

In accordance with Roskosmos approved in the State Corporation “Roskosmos” by the flight of flights on the Russian program of the International Space Station in 2022, two launches of the piloted ship “Union of MS” are planned from the Baikonur cosmodrome. They will be held in spring and autumn of this year.

On March 18 at 18:55 Moscow time from the Baikonur cosmodrome, the launch of the Soyuz-2.1A launch vehicle was scheduled with the transport piloted ship “Union MS-21”. The main crew was made immediately three members of the Roskosmos cosmonaut detachment: Oleg Artemyev, Denis Matveyev and Sergey Korsakov. Their Dubliers: Sergey Prokopyev, Anna Kikina and Dmitry Pethene, respectively.

The flight of the piloted ship will be held on the “super-fast” two-vertex diagram of rapprochement. The docking is scheduled to the new nodular module “Pier” of the Russian segment of the ISS, and the duration of the flight will be 195 days.

Next piloted launch from the Baikonur cosmodrome is scheduled for September 21 at 16:54 Moscow time. His flight as part of the Russian segment of the station will last 188 days.

In addition, within the framework of cross-flights with the United States, the Crew Dragon cosmonaut Roscosmos Anna Kikin will enter the American manned ship. It is planned that the flight will be held in September – October 2022. According to the astronaut, in the preparation for the flight on the American ship there are features.

As cosmonaut clarified, the preparation for the flight on the ship will be held in the United States. The first stage of training has already passed, the second will take place in the near future, already in 2022.
