Director of the Gamalei Center Alexander Ginzburg spoke on the danger of alcohol for Russians recently grafted from coronavirus. He also recalled that he should not abuse alcohol, passes the TASS.
Ginzburg estimated the effect of alcohol on the formation of immunity to COVID-19. He stated that he could afford a couple of glasses of champagne for the New Year, because they would not worsen the production of antibodies.
“Fully on New Year’s Eve does not have to refuse alcohol, one or two glasses of antibodies, do not prevent,” said the head of the center of Gamalei.
The scientist added that the abuse of alcoholic beverages has a detrimental effect on the body, since it oppresses the work of immune cells and narrows the vessels.
“In people who are prone to hypertension, this is another additional factor of the risk of strokes and heart attacks. In general, alcohol weakens immunity and subsequently increases the exposure to coronavirus infection,” concluded Ginzburg.
Almost Narcologist Ruslan Isaev called on to refuse to eat strong and carbonated alcohol on New Year’s Eve. He advised Russians to choose low alcohol drinks, especially dry wine.
