Moscow and Minsk intend to continue military cooperation due to the uncompromising west, the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an interview with TASS.
The program of agreed actions in foreign policy developed by Russia and Belarus contains provisions on coordination of interaction on military-political aspects, the Minister stressed. He also promised that an updated military doctrine of the Union State, approved by the Supreme State Council on November 4th, will be an important help in such work.
“would like to note that the work of our foreign policy departments is aimed at finding ways to resolve any questions with political and diplomatic means,” Lavrov added.
Russian and Belarus President Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko approved the updated military doctrine of the Union State on November 4 at a meeting of the Supreme State Council. It is noted that the military doctrine has become a “response to the pressure policy of the West.” It should provide a higher level of interaction of the two countries defense.
