Fire tests of the engine sample of the RD-191M launch vehicle “Angara-A5M” will begin in 2022. This is stated in the message “Roskosmos”, reports TASS.
Design documentation of the RD-191M has already been prepared, including in the form of an electronic 3D model. The new engine is different from the old (RD-191) by the level of traction – it is forced by 10 percent.
Russian Ministry of Defense also plans to launch three spacecraft missiles “Angara” with satellites in 2022: two heavy “hangar-A5” and one light “hangar-1.2”. According to the source, the breeze-m accelerant unit will be used as part of heavy rockets.
Upgraded “hangar-a5m” is designed for launches from the Eastern cosmodrome. In December 2020, Angara-A5 brought 2.4 tons of cargo during the start.
