NATO aircraft, which fly in airspace over neutral zones without communication and without identification signs, pose a threat to passenger sides, told Lente.ru former aircraft commander, flight safety specialist Alexander Romanov. He appreciated the danger of the convergence of the US scout aircraft with the Belarusian passenger airliner.
“1300 meters is less than a safe distance, but not critical. Sometimes, sometimes there are aircraft in hundreds of meters,” the former pilot noted. According to him, it is possible to consider the approaching aircraft without identifying signs visually, since the aircraft tracking system does not display it.
For such cases there are certain rules. “If you see that it flies towards you to meet another aircraft on the left, then you need to replete to the right and down 300 feet to decrease, if on the right, then we turn over to the left and pick up the height,” he explained.
Earlier it was reported that the American RC-135V, performing a reconnaissance flight without contact with the dispatchers, became close to the Boeing 737 Passenger Airline of the Belarusian airline “Belavia”. The difference in height between the two aircraft was only 1.3 thousand meters.
