State Duma made a draft law on New Year’s pensions

The draft law on annual pre-New Year payments to pensioners is submitted to the State Duma. The document is published in the electronic database of the Lower House of Parliament.

The authors of the initiative were the leader of the LDPR faction Vladimir Zhirinovsky, a group of deputies from his party, as well as Senators Elena Afanasyev and Irina Kozhanova.

The draft law involves the provision of insurance pensions, pensions under state pension funding and “military” pensions of additional payments. Its amount deputies and senators proposed to equate to the size of the retirement itself, which relies on a citizen at the time of issuing a payment.

The explanatory note states that the real pensions of Russians are reduced by many months in a row, and a high level of inflation, which “as of 2021 may be about nine percent,” continues to be extremely negatively influenced by the level of retirees revenues. Before the New Year, Russians are customary to buy gifts and products for the festive table, so socially vulnerable categories of citizens, including retirees, should be supported.

The implementation of the initiatives of the deputies and senators in 2022 are estimated at 786.2 billion rubles, of which 66.4 billion will go to military pensions. Money is invited to take from the National Welfare Fund (FNB), for which it will be necessary to change the law on the federal budget for 2022 and the planning period 2023 and 2024.

Earlier it was reported that inflation in Russia from the beginning of the year by December 27 reached 8.26 percent. During a large press conference on December 23, Russian President Vladimir Putin promised to fulfill the promises of past years in response to the question of whether pensions will be the following year above the level of actual, and not forecast inflation.
