Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak announced the need to introduce a ban on issuing new licenses for coal mining. He told RBC about this, RIA Novosti reports.
He explained that the mines are dangerous production facilities, this confirms the recent accident on “focused” in Kuzbass. “It is necessary to pursue a policy aimed at ensuring that especially dangerous deep mines with high methane mines become less,” Novak answered to the question of measures to improve safety after emergency with dozens of dead. It is possible to reduce this type of production by refusal to licensing the mines, it clarified.
The explosion of methane in the “List” mine in the city of Belovo, Kemerovo region occurred in the morning of November 25. As a result, 51 people died, among them there are five mountains, who went to search for miners. 106 people were injured. One of the rescuers, Alexander Zakovshina, who was considered dead, managed to leave the mine – he went to rescuers himself the next day after the emergency. Later, after checking the circumstances of what happened, the investigators brought two cases and arrested five people: the director of the mine, his deputy, chief and two of the employees of Rostechnadzor, who were checked by the enterprise.
