Military historian Dmitry Boltenkov noted that the task of the 4th Guards Storm Regiment is the fight against land, air and maritime targets in the waters of the Kaliningrad exclave. “This military unit, along with the 689th Fighter Airlines, protects Kaliningrad from air strikes from both the sea, and from the boundaries of neighboring states,” he said.
SU-30CM2 fighter is unified with Su-35s. The plane received the AL-41F1C engines with a variable thrust vector and a modernized radar station. The aircraft was also equipped with a multi-channel combined communication system, data exchange, navigation and identification (east). The new system will allow the Su-30cm to interact with heavy drones and fifth generation aircraft.
