Xiaomi announced the creation of its third processor SURGE P1. This is reported by the publication MyDrivers.
Own semiconductor equipment was presented during the event on December 28, at which the company has released a line of smartphones Xiaomi 12. The chip controls the process of quick charging, providing power to the battery to 120 watts. The first device in which the processor was installed was the flagship Xiaomi 12 Pro.
According to representatives of the company, SURGE P1 is the first chip in the industry for resonant charging, the efficiency is 97.5 percent, a decrease in heat loss – 30 percent. From the moment of the beginning of the creation of the chip, 18 months passed to its launch in the series, the prototype was tested about 2500 times. From the Xiaomi message it follows that the design of the Surge P1 is about nine times more complicated than the design of other batteries for batteries.
In the maximum mode, the processor can supply energy to a 120 watt battery. In this mode, a smartphone with a battery with a capacity of 4600 milliamme aperture can be fully charged in 18 minutes.
The first Xiaomi processor turned out to be released in 2017 Surge S1. Earlier in 2021, the company introduced the Surge C1 chip, which appeared in the MI MIX FOLD smartphone.
In late December, it became known that Huawei opened a new enterprise for the production of own processors. Thus, the Corporation may solve some of the problems associated with finding in the US sanctions list.
