Belarus intends to acquire modernized anti-aircraft missile systems (SP) “Tor-M2” from Russia. This was reported by the press secretary of the Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSVTs) Valery Reshetnikov, reports RIA Novosti
She told about the plans of Minsk to purchase a new batch of SPC from Moscow and added that the Belarusian side had not yet appealed to Russia for the supply of anti-aircraft missile systems S-400.
In early December, the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, stated that the Republic of C-400 or C-500 was required to effectively protect against the republic’s missile attack. According to the head of state, his Russian colleague Vladimir Putin will take a decision on their supply.
Before that, Lukashenko also noted that Minsk is interested in obtaining Russian missile systems “Iskander”, as they need Belarus in the Western and Southern directions.
