Moldova President Maya Sanda stated that he would not go to the informal summit of the CIS chapters in St. Petersburg, as she never received an official invitation. To refuse to go to Russia, she told the air of the Pro TV channel, RIA Novosti reports.
“I have already said that I analyze participation in these meetings, depending on their agenda and those discussed – how significant they are for Moldova, we are particularly interested in economic aspects, we want to solve problems in this area,” Sanda said.
According to her, within the CIS, there is a free trade regime for Moldova with many countries, with the exception of Russia. Sanda noted that trade problems with Moscow began in 2014, when Moldova signed a trade agreement with the Russian Federation. The President added that a bilateral dialogue is needed in relations with the Russian Federation, which Moldavia supports at different levels.
In late October, Sanda made the activation of relations with Russia. She stressed that for progress in relations between Moscow and Chisinau and a particular summit, concrete steps are needed.
