According to the figures published Monday by the Ministry of Labor, the number of jobseekers has declined in November (- 1.7%).
The Minister of Labor, Elisabeth Borne, praised Monday December 27 a “good news on the front of the job”, with unemployment that “continued to decline very clearly in November”. In particular, she pointed out that “youth unemployment has been at its lowest level for nearly fifteen years.”
She commented on the monthly figures of unemployment published earlier by the Ministry of Labor , pointing a new decline in the number of jobseekers without any activity (activity a) in November ( – 1.7%, to set up 3.321 million people), after a 3.3% decrease in October. These monthly figures, however, are considered as volatiles of one month over the other, the Statistics Branch (DARES) starting only quarterly developments.
Including reduced activity (categories B and C), the number of job seekers in France (excluding Mayotte) is down 0.7% in November compared to the previous month and is 5,669 millions, according to the Dare.
The latest quarterly results published at the end of October had reported a decline in the number of category A unemployed by 5.5% in the third quarter. The category A was then just below the pre-crisis level, with 5,200 less job seekers compared to the 2019 e for categories A, B and C in their Together, there remained higher than its pre-crisis level (+ 124,100).
