Ex-president of Moldova answered suspicion of embezzlement of state institutions

The General Prosecutor’s Office of Moldova caused the testimony of the former president of the Republic of Igor Dodon. He is suspected of participating in the scheme for the presence of public funds by $ 12 million. He himself considers it a political order. “I will not shy away from the conversations, from meetings with prosecutors, the authorities decided to launch a smoke veil to distract the population from problems,” Dodon said.

December 21 Dodon was summoned to the General Prosecutor’s Office for interrogation in a criminal case of the embezzlement on the procurement of electricity. The department explained that it concerns the criminal scheme, which the heads of the state company Energocom in early 2008 were carried out. At that time, Dodon headed the Ministry of Economy of Moldova and was the first prime minister of the country.

According to the prosecutor’s office, through the unreasonable increase in the purchase price imported into the country of electricity, fraudsters managed to assign state institutions of $ 11.9 million (more than 884 million rubles).
