Belgian Prime Minister Alexander de Cro considers the opportunity to introduce forced vaccination against the fact that he had previously called such a step “political laziness”. It is reported by POLITICO Edition.
the prime minister acknowledged that the number of patients in the departments of intensive therapy makes him reconsider his views. “Good arguments can convince me … The goal is clear: we have to vaccinate everyone. If the coercion can help, then I would like to decide on it,” de Croo explained, adding that the final decision in any case will be taken in parliament.
At the same time, the number of patients with COVID-19 in Belgian hospitals has already fallen – now there are less than two thousand, for the first time since the beginning of November. But the country’s authorities expect it to grow again because of the Omicron strain.
Earlier, the President of the Czech Republic Milos Zeman also called himself a supporter of mandatory vaccination from COVID-19. French President Emmanuel Macron also allowed the inclusion of a coronavirus vaccine into a mandatory list.
