Gas futures contracts in Europe at the opening of trading collapsed below 1100 dollars per thousand cubic meters, losing more than ten percent, indicate the data of the London Exchange ICE.
The January futures price of the Dutch TTF index amounted to $ 1156.7, which is 10.4 percent less than the estimated price of Friday, December 24th. Then the decline continued, the price of fuel dropped almost to 1050 dollars.
December 21, the exchange cost of gas in Europe increased to $ 2150 per thousand cubic meters and broke the next record. The rise in price of gas in Europe occurred against the background of the termination of the supply of Gazprom on the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline. The fuel on it began to act in a reverse direction towards Poland.
After December 21, the market began to stabilize – the cost of fuel is reduced almost throughout the week. This happens, including because of the expectations of additional batches of LNG.
