The conflict of Lithuania and China, caused by the discovery of Taiwan’s representative offices in Vilnius, has become a problem for other EU countries, Die Welt declared the Deputy Chairman of the European Commission (EC) Valdis Dombrovskis. He explained that not only Lithuanian companies are still faced with the blockade of exports.
“We are concerned that there are more information from other countries about blocking,” Dombrovskis explained. According to him, the Chinese customs does not issue products from other EU countries, if any details are produced in Lithuania. Dombrovskis clarified that the loads were repeatedly stopped in Chinese ports, and more such cases is becoming more and more.
After the opening of the Taiwan office in Lithuania, the PRC excluded Lithuania from its customs system. Lithuanian entrepreneurs have problems with the legalization of goods delivered to China. Vilnius found the action of Beijing “Unprecedented” and asked for help to the EU.
The European Union in turn said that he had a dialogue with Beijing for the speedy clarification of the situation related to the blockader of Lithuanian goods. Brussels is considering including a complaint to the World Trade Organization. At that, the European Union recalled that he recognizes the PRC government as the sole government of China.
