Roskosmos State Corporation continues operational monitoring of emergency situations around the world by means of the Russian orbital grouping. As part of the commission of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Roscosmos organized a 24-hour operational monitoring of the flood and fire hazardous environment, as well as other natural and man-made disasters.
From December 16 to 23, 2021, the following emergencies were monitored at the requests of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia:
- Search for a missing fishing vessel on Sakhalin;
- furnishings on the military-Georgian road;
- furnishings in the Republic of Buryatia.
As part of the activities of the International Charter on Space and Large Catastrophes during the reporting period, the following emergencies were monitored:
- Flood in Micronesia;
- The consequences of the passage of hurricane and floods in the Philippines.
On the basis of media reports on natural and man-made catastrophes around the world, the space photography of the consequences of the passage in the United States was planned.
In total in the reporting period, Russian data of remote sensing in the amount of about 22 thousand square meters was transferred to the EMERCOM of Russia. km, and in the International Charter on Space and Large Catastrophes – about 130 thousand square meters. km.
Roskosmos State Corporation supports operational interaction with the EMERCOM of Russia for timely response to the occurrence of a flood and fire-hazardous situation and the implementation of space monitoring of the affected territories.
Reception, registration, processing, archiving, cataloging and dissemination of information from Russian and foreign satellites of remote sensing of the Earth are carried out by the NC OMZ Holding “Russian Space Systems”. He is the head organization of the Roskosmos State Corporation on the reception systems, processing and distribution of space shooting information.
