The Russian side did not receive official communications from Indonesia about the refusal to buy multipurpose SU-35 fighters. This is reported by TASS with reference to the Russian ambassador in Jakarta Lyudmila Vorobyev.
“We have no official information and official appeals from the Indonesian side,” the ambassador reacted.
Earlier, the head of the main headquarters of the Ministry of Air Force, the main marshal of Aviation Fadjar Perseto reported that Indonesia was forced to abandon the purchase of Su-35. He noted that the government is considering the purchase of American fighters Boeing F-15EX and French Dassault Rafale.
In 2018, Indonesia and Russia signed an agreement on supplying 11 Su-35 fighters. The planes were planned to transfer in 2019, but later the sources reported that the implementation of the transaction was delayed by American sanctions.
In September, 19FortyFive edition wrote about the danger of Su-35 for F-35 Lightning II. The publications noted that his multifunctionality was the advantage of the Russian aircraft. Su-35 can affect air, terrestrial and sea purposes, and the range of application of rocket weapons exceeds 300 kilometers.
