The lack of cars in Russia will continue in the first half of 2022 due to problems with the supply of electronic components, primarily chips, writes “Prime” with reference to the words of the head of the Ministry of Industry and Science of Denis Manturova.
The head of the department added that the Ministry of Industry and Trade works with the electronic and microelectronic industry to eliminate current problems. “It will take a certain time. We will see the result in about 2-2.5 years,” Manturov explained.
The deficit significantly raised prices for cars – “AUTOSTAT” suggests that, according to the results of 2021, the cost of passenger cars in the country will increase by 17 percent. According to Manturova, new cars of the Russian auto industry went up by 5-8 percent, and foreign – within 20 percent.
The lack of cars on the domestic car market was back in 2020. Forecasts of autodiets converge with statements by the Ministry of Industry: The deficit will continue at least the entire first quarter of 2022 due to the lack of a sufficient number of semiconductors.
Because of the rapid rise in price of Machines MINPROMTORG proposed to limit 10 percent the maximum markup of official autodiets when selling new cars even during periods of peak demand. Currently, the Office is working on the organization of such an agreement between the Association “Russian Car Dealers” (Road) and Association of Automobiles.
