Former president of Moldova, Honorary Chairman of the Socialist Republic, Igor Dodon stated that during the year Chisinau relations with Moscow deteriorated significantly. He reported on this on the air NTV Moldova TV channel.
“It is necessary to recognize that the relations of Moldova and Russia are not the best, especially in comparison with what was a year ago. I hope that the new ambassador will soon go to Russia, perhaps, after that, promotion will begin on a diplomatic direction, economic contacts. Almost no, “he said.
At the same time, Dodon declared his intention to make every effort to improve the relations of countries, recalling that he became Chairman of the Moldovan-Russian Union of Business People. According to him, it is necessary to urgently convene the Moldovan-Russian Intergovernmental Commission to solve problems between countries.
“I discuss with the leaders of enterprises and associations various important projects for Moldova. I hope to convince three-four important partners next year so that they discover plants or factories in Moldova,” said Dodon.
Earlier, a member of the Council of the Russian Federation, Alexey Pushkov, warned that expulsion from Moldova Ambassador of Russia in the Republic of Oleg Vasnetsov could have negative consequences for the country, primarily at the economic level. “After all, the next time with the delay in the payment of Russian gas supplies from Chisinau, everything can work out otherwise, what happened in November, when Moscow reacted very condescendingly,” explained the guns.
