The politically determined and harmful tightening of the launch of the North Stream-2 gas pipeline contributes to the exacerbation of the energy crisis in Germany. This was stated by the deputy of the Bundestag from the Party “Alternative for Germany” Shteaffen Kotra, TASS reports.
According to him, in such conditions it is quite possible to further increase energy prices, especially if winter is even colder. The parliamentarian stressed that “Northern Stream-2” would provide additional gas supplies to Europe against the background of the energy crisis. He also added that the launch of the gas pipeline could be the necessary signal of Russia that Germany is ready to adhere to a long-term partnership with Moscow.
In addition, he predicted the acceleration of inflation and the deterioration of the situation in European countries due to the increase in energy prices. Coter also criticized the power of Germany for the desire to supply an industrially developed country due to unreliable solar and wind energy.
Earlier, German Foreign Minister Annala Berbok said that she and Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz reached a consensus on the North Stream-2 gas pipeline. According to Berbok, now she has a shared position on the launch of the project. “Although it is no secret that we have taken different positions in the past on this issue, but as a chancellor, and I now clearly stated that the certification process should go on the basis of European legislation,” the Foreign Minister noted.
