Belarusian KGB detained Russians in case of terrorism

In the Gomel region of Belarus, a citizen of Russia was detained, whom the security forces suspected in arson of the police car and damage to the wheels of about 40 trolley buses. It is reported by BelTA with reference to the head of the Office of the State Security Committee for the Region (KGB) of Alexander Melnikov.

He did not name the name of the Russian, but noted that he had a view of a resident in Gomel and committed a crime on extremist reasons. “Currently, the Office in relation to this person is investigated by a criminal case on the fact of the act of terrorism,” Melnikov said.

According to him, the detainee acted exclusively from political considerations and sought to “stop the movement of public transport.” As far as possible, the crime of the Russian and other details of the criminal case has not yet been reported.

Previously, Belarusian security forces sent for the court of 21-year-old Russian “for causing harm to national security.” According to the special services, the young man posted several messages to Telegram with calls for violent action and “formed a negative image of authorities” from other users.
