Yuri Malenchenko is one of the most experienced cosmonauts of the world. Behind his shoulders – six space flights, 827 days in orbit, six exits in open space with a total duration of 35 hours, work on board the orbital complex “Peace” and the International Space Station. Without exaggeration, it can be said that with the name Yuri Malenchenko, a whole epoch in the history of domestic and world manned cosmonautics is connected.
He performed his first cosmic flight from July 1 to November 4, 1994 as the commander of the ship “Union TM-19”. During the flight Yuri Ivanovich, within the framework of work on extracurricular activities, made two exits in open space for 5 hours 6 minutes and 6 hours 1 minute, respectively.
For the second time in orbit, Yuri Malenchenko went on the Atlantis STS-106 shuttle as a flight specialist. In this orbital business trip, which lasted from 8 to 20 September 2000, Yuri Ivanovich also completed an outdoor space of 6 hours 14 minutes.

Sixth Cosmic Flight Cosmonaut made from December 15, 2015 to June 18, 2016 as part of the crew of 46 / 47th long expedition to the ISS as the commander of the Soyuz TMA-19M ship and the MCS flight engineer. During the flight, Yuri Malenchenko performed an exit to open space from the Russian segment of the ISS duration 4 hours 43 minutes. The duration of the flight was 186 days.
