The General Director of the Institute of Agrarian Markets (ICAR), Dmitry Dmitry, called stable and no concern the situation in the Sahara market in Russia. His words lead RIA Novosti.
He noted that prices for this product have the potential of short-term growth to 55 rubles. Currently, they do not reach the mark of 50 rubles, and the sugar delivered as part of the quota can cost about 50 rubles or somewhat higher.
“The achievement of wholesale prices for levels of 55 rubles was considered as one of the market development options and for a short period,” the head of Icarus explained.
Snilko added that only a hypothetical version of the value of import sugar on the Russian market is considered. Production of the domestic product in 2021 may reach 5.6-5.7 million tons.
On November 15, Vitric Prime Minister Victoria Abramchenko instructed to prepare measures to hold prices for sugar and vegetable oil. At the same time, she called on to take into account that food prices are growing worldwide. To preserve the stable prices, the Ministry of Agriculture considered the introduction of a tariff quota for the import of sugar and sugar-raw in 2022. The department also allowed the possibility of revising the “floating” duty to the side of magnification with a sharp increase in the cost of sunflower in Russia and the world.
