The US Department of Justice decided not to return to the prison released from home because of the Pandemic COVID-19 prisoners. Such a promise gave the head of the department Merrick Garland, his words lead RIA Novosti.
He stressed that the Ministry of Justice intends to use all the existing powers in order not to send those who achieved progress in rehabilitation, did not violate the conditions of home arrest, and to whom in the interests of justice should continue to return to society.
“Thousands of people in the conditions of home arrest reunited with their families, found an income-generating work and performed all the prescriptions,” Garland added.
He stated that he had achieved a leadership of the revision of the definition of the return of all prisoners at the end of the emergency to coronavirus.
In March 2021, it became known that prisons in the United States began to produce prisoners in order to prevent the outbreak of coronavirus. Freedom was planned to release those who committed a small degree of gravity, as well as minors, elderly and patients.
