Negotiations in Vienna to restore a joint comprehensive action plan (CSPD) will be resumed by the end of the year, the United States and Iran are preparing steps to return to a nuclear transaction. The Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said this in an interview with RT TV channel.
Diplomat noted that the Russian side together with Chinese and European partners made a synchronization of the preparation of a package of counter actions Tehran and Washington. “It is now that negotiating in Vienna are engaged in this, they took a short break at Catholic Christmas, but by the end of the year these negotiations will be resumed,” the minister said.
Lavrov noticed that Iran is ready for a complete return and fulfillment of its obligations, including the application of an additional protocol to an IAEA agreement on comprehensive guarantees, if the United States fulfills its obligations and will cease to threaten with sanctions that are incompatible with CSPD.
“So, I think we have a good chance. And here, of course, it is important to keep in mind that the principle, on the basis of which work is underway, and everyone agrees with him: nothing is coordinated until everything is agreed. So you need the right, well-verified package. He is quite real, “the Foreign Minister concluded.
Iran and major nuclear powers are trying to resume the transaction 2015, according to which Tehran limited his nuclear program in exchange for exemption from US economic sanctions, EU and the UN. The United States came out of the transaction in 2018 during the presidential term of Donald Trump, since Tehran was caught in gross violations of agreements.
On October 27, the official representative of the State Department said that the United States agrees to resume negotiations on a nuclear transaction with Iran. According to him, the American side is ready to return to Vienna, reach agreement on the joint comprehensive plan of action (CSPD) and implement them into life.
December 15, Iran stated that he would return to CCPD only if the United States completely cancel all sanctions against Tehran and will not come out again from the joint comprehensive action plan (UNDPD) on the Iranian nuclear program. In the US, in responses, they said they were ready to remove sanctions from Iran, but only those that contradict UNFF.
