General Director of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhan Grebriesus predicted the end of the coronavirus pandemic in 2022. This is told at a briefing at the headquarters of the organization in Geneva.
“2022, it must be the year of the end of the pandemic,” said Greesus.
He stressed that such an event of events will be possible only if 70 percent of the world’s population vaccinated from coronavirus by the middle of the next year.
Earlier, the representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Russia Melit Vuynovich suggested that the Omicron-strain of Coronavirus could become a “live vaccine” from COVID-19 and will lead a pandemic. She noted that this result is possible, but emphasized that at the moment it is too early to talk about it, since patients with Omicron are not enough.
At the same time, she saw signs of Russia’s exit on COVID-19 plateau and a change in the epidemic situation. At the same time, she noted that despite the output on the plateau, the incidence rate in the country is very high, “close to 30 thousand cases per day.”
