The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus intends to significantly reduce the number of diplomats and employees who work in the EU countries (EU), due to the deterioration of relations between Minsk and Brussels. According to the minister, the cause of such restructuring was the strengthening of sanctuction pressure on the country, which prevents the interaction of diplomats with the leadership of Western states. “This applies primarily by Western Europe. At the same time, there was a need to strengthen our activities on other flanks,” said McShe.
He explained that he implies the expansion of the diplomatic corps in the states who have good relations with Belarus: CIS, China, India and African countries. There, as the minister stressed, employees will be transferred from posts in European powers.
“Before the New Year, we will take the appropriate order, on the basis of which all the permutations will be held. Such powers were delegated to the President of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, all this is carried out within the framework of the current number of”, “added the Foreign Minister.
Previously, President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, said that he was not going to “throw out” Western diplomats due to new sanctions against the country. He pointed out that foreigners are too early to “pack suitcases”, despite complex relations between Belarus and the EU.
