The widow of the victim five years ago in Ankara of the Russian ambassador Andrei Karlov on the eve of the anniversary of his death shared with RIA Novosti memories of the wife.
Marina Karlova noted that her husband was born in the family of a diplomat, his father died of a heart attack, returning from Zanzibar, where he was on a business trip, he could not stand heavily climate. At the age of 14, the future diplomat had to grow up and become the head of the family.
According to the widow, Andrei Karlov studied perfectly and helped her mother, after graduating from school, he entered MGIMO, studied Korean language and was directed through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to North Korea. This country, her nature, people, the local food spouses were very loved, in total they spent 16 years.
Marina Karlova added that her husband was sent all his interests to the homeland. “There is a deal – to defend the Motherland, and the profession of the diplomat is to protect the interests of their homeland. And Andrei sought to make his contribution to this thing,” she concluded.
Andrei Karlov, the Russian ambassador to Ankara, was shot dead on December 19, 2016. The attack committed a former police officer Mevlyut Merrt Altyntash, who immediately eliminated local security forces. The Russian Foreign Ministry qualified as a terrorist attack. A posthumously diplomat was awarded the title of Hero of Russia.
