European countries will introduce additional restrictions to combat incidence and dissemination of the Omicron strain COVID-19. New anticoroneviral measures will affect Christmas and New Year holidays. It is reported by Bloomberg.
The first tough restrictions will be introduced by the Netherlands. Measures include home self-insulation, closure of schools, most shops, bars, restaurants and public places, as well as the closure of flights with the UK.
France, Germany, and Austria at the moment have established reinforced epidemiological control for non-vaccinated or non-surgery of the COVID-19 travelers. It is possible that with the worsening of the situation with Omicron, the authorities of other states will introduce Lokdaun, following the example of the Netherlands and the UK.
The spread of an ohomicron strain, which is characterized by a high probability of infection, risks the blow to the population of Europe. The authorities seek to avoid the British scenario – 10,059 new cases of infection were officially recorded in the last 24 hours.
On December 20, Edition The Wall Street Journal, with reference to the representatives of the health sector, reported that in the United States an increase in the number of patients infected by Omicron-strain. According to sources, American hospitals are now not ready for this.
Earlier throughout Europe passed protests against vaccinations and introducing new measures.
