In October 2019, the bodies of 39 migrants and refugees were found in a refrigerated truck in Essex, northeast London. Two years later, the origins of this drama lead to Grenoble where two Vietnamese, dead in this heavyweight. An investigation revealed a tentacular trafficking network of human beings. One of the victims, Anh Huan Phan, told his story at the hearing. Arrived in France, he had found a job offer in 2017 on a Vietnamese Facebook group to work in an Asian restaurant, New Saigon, and thus reimburse the smuggler for the trip to France, and for the one hoped for the England. In Grenoble, he first met Quoc Nhat Phan, who appeared at the trial.

It was he who made a false residence title and a false certificate of vital card, so that the employer can declare Anh Huan Phan. The latter has told, to the investigators isérois after his interpellation, his salary of 1,300 euros, paid in cash, for eight and a half hours of work six days by seven. At the end of 2017, he went to a bank branch of Corerc ( Isère), with two Vietnamese compatriots, to open bank accounts. A few months later, the seven stay documents are on the desk of the Prefect of the Isère. A Vietnamese sector specializing in the manufacture of false administrative documents is not a hypothesis to exclude. From there, the investigators shot the string. The two weeks of audience made us travel from Vietnam to England, with stops in Paris and especially a long stop in the south-east of France, in more than thirty Asian restaurants, from Grenoble to Marseille , from Carpentras (Vaucluse) in Ambérieu-en-Bugey (Ain).
