Russian Ambassador explained US threats to “Northern Flow-2”

Ambassador of Russia in the USA Anatoly Antonov explained the unscrupulous competition of the threat of Washington to the participants of the North Stream-2 gas pipeline project. He stated an interview with NEWSWeek magazine.

“Sanctions and other threats to the participants of this consortium are used for unfair competition,” the diplomat emphasized. Anton reminded that Moscow has repeatedly stated that the gas pipeline is exclusively a commercial project.

Construction of “Northern Flow-2” ended on September 10. Two gas pipes in a length of 1224 kilometers long each will be held from Russia to Germany for the bottom of the Baltic Sea. The capacity of the gas pipeline will be 55 billion cubic meters per year. Filling the first object of the object began on October 4. The second thread of the North Stream-2 pipeline began to fill in gas on December 17.

Before the start of work, the gas pipeline must pass the certification of German and European regulatory authorities. On December 16, the Federal Network Agency of Germany (BNetza) reported that the procedure would not have time to complete until the end of the first half of 2022, although it was previously planned to be done until January 8, 2022.
