In the Kazan National Research Technical University – Kazan Aviation Institute named after A.N. Tupolev passed the II International Conference “Gas discontinuity plasma and synthesis of nanostructures”, in which employees of the Keldysh Center took part (part of the state corporation “Roskosmos”) – Head of the laboratory Alan Kozayev and an engineer Andrei Roganyev.
At the conference, Andrei Nognayev made a report “Calculating and experimental study of the process of forming electric arc discharges in three-phase plasmaunging”. This study is aimed at improving the effectiveness of the application of plasma torches in applied tasks, such as the test of heat-shielding coatings and materials, as well as to increase the resource of the plasma torus.
Interesting is a historical fact that in the period from 1941 to 1943. In the university’s walls, a group of scientists led by the future president of the USSR Academy of Sciences by Mstislav Vsevolodovich Keldysh, who in 1946 became the head of the Jet Restructive Research Institute (now the center of Keldysh), conducted works in the field of aerodynamics.
