Rescue detachment of the Northern Fleet of Russia began acceptance and delivery tests of the renovated autonomous inhabited deep-water rescue unit AC-36, RIA Novosti reports.
Tests of the product, the regular carrier of which is the rescue ship “Mikhail Rudnitsky”, are held in the Kola Barents Sea Kola. Tests are planned to continue in 2022. Upon their completion, the device will perform immersion at a depth of more than 700 meters.
It is noted that the repaired AC-36 received an updated navigation complex, radio equipment and automation systems. “The AC-36 has passed the average repairs with the modernization of the main systems at the gun-repair factory in St. Petersburg and worked part of the tests on the Baltic,” said the Northern Fleet.
In November 2015, AC-36 took part in training seedings to assist an emergency submarine in the Kola Bay.
