For eleven and a half months of 2021, Russian carrier missiles were made by 23 space orbital starts (all successful). 22 of them are made on carrier rockets using liquid rocket engines for the development of the Scientific and Production Association “Energomash” named after Academician V.P. Glushko (part of Roscosmos State Corporation). The only exception was the light rocket “Soyuz-2.1B”, which does not use the engine development engines Energomash.
As always, the leading positions in the number of starts occupy two modifications of the Soyuz-2 carrier missile: thirteen starts of the “1B stage” rockets and seven launches of stage “1a”, each of which four liquid rocket engines of the RD-107A were used At the first stage and one RD-108a on the second stage. In addition, two starts of the Proton-M launch vehicle were fulfilled with the six engines of the RD-253 family at the first stage.
Liquid Rocket Motors RD-180 provided four starts of American ATLAS 5 carrier missiles, and the RD-181 engines are two starts of American antares carrier missiles.
Total, in 28 launch, over the past period of 2021, one hundred and twenty engine development engines Energomash successfully worked: one hundred liquid rocket engines of the RD-107/108 family, twelve – family of RD-253, four – RD-181 and four – RD- 180.
In total, in the world, at the current moment of 2021, 130 space orbital starts were performed, of which 21.5% – on the NGO Energomash engines. Since the launch activity in December 2021 will continue, the total results for 2021 can only be summarized at the beginning of next year.
