Maximum deposit size for poor Russians

The maximum size of a special contribution for low-income Russians can be 200-300 thousand rubles, the head of the State Duma Committee on the Financial Market Anatoly Aksakov said. His statements quotes Interfax.

The rate for such a contribution for the poor can be tied to inflation or key rate of the central bank. As the parliamentarian reminded, the issue of creating a special product mechanism was discussed at the end of November with representatives of the regulator. At the moment, discussions are beginning to the amount of deposits that “require relevant protection”, the deputy noted.

“By the way, and world practice, as far as we know, exists. In France, for example, such contributions are definitely protected from inflation, so the figure is still in the spotlight,” he explained.

Initially, it was about the amount of 50 thousand rubles, but it turned out that such contributions are very few, and there is no sense to take the law on such an amount. “Now they have increased it, and at the suggestion of the market itself, up to 200-300 thousand. I think about within these limits we will stop,” said Aksakov.

On the proposal of the Central Bank to create special bank deposits for low-income Russians at the end of the autumn reported the deputy chairman of the regulator Olga Polyakova. It was assumed that a person will be able to have only one such contribution, and the amount will be limited.
