France President Emmanuel Macron responded to the question of participation in the presidential election of the country, which will be held in April 2022. He spoke about this on TV channel TF1.
Macron spoke, whether he plans to run for the second term at the election of the country’s leader. He stressed that the circumstances that currently did not allow him to reflect on it.
“I am not in that situation now, to talk about the elections,” the French president stressed.
The leader of the republic added that if he had already announced the participation of his candidacy in the upcoming elections, “it would be difficult to make the necessary decisions, in particular to combat the new Coronavirus pandemic wave.”
Previously, Macron first revealed its revenues for four years. Since the beginning of his presidency, he earned a little more than one million euros.
In September, candidates for the presidential elections in France became known. Among them – the leader of the party “National Association” Marin Le Pen, the mayor of Paris Ann Idalgo, the National Secretary of the Communist Party Fabien Roussell, the leader of the party “Unfortunate France” Jean-Luke Melanchon.
The election of the President of France will be held in two rounds. They are scheduled for April 10 and 24, 2022.
