Poland’s Prime Minister Mateush MOREVETSKY During the meeting with the Croatian counterpart Andrei Plenkovich, Zagreb warned to strengthen the dependence of the European Union (EU) from Russia when starting the North Stream-2 gas pipeline. This is reported by Euractiv Edition, RIA Novosti reports.
According to Polish politics, the Russian Federation allegedly uses gas as a “political visor” to strengthen influence in Europe. “The EU is highly dependent on Russian energy carriers, and if the pipeline starts working, it can be concluded that we will become even more dependent,” he believes.
Earlier, Murezetsky accused the Russian company Gazprom in the rise in gas prices. He promised to discuss the “Northern Flow-2” question from the executing Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel. Meeting of the heads of state is scheduled for November 25.
The certification process “Northern Flow-2” is currently suspended. The Federal Network Agency (German regulator) reported that the procedure would be resumed as soon as Gazprom creates a subsidiary company for the German part of the highway. Such measures are necessary to comply with the EU legal norms.
