Russia suffered from the deficit of devices more than some other countries. This is stated in the IDC report published on the organization’s website.
From the study of IDC it follows that following the results of the third quarter of 2021, the market of smartphones sold in Russia decreased. Sales dropped sharply due to the lack of components and difficulties encountered in the supply chain. According to the internal information of the agency, the supply of smartphones in the third quarter amounted to 8.1 million pieces worth 2.3 billion dollars. For the same period last year, deliveries were 9.4 million units.
“Russia suffered more from the deficit of devices more than some other countries,” said the representative of the agency Simon Baker. Delivered interruptions were observed in all manufacturers of smartphones, including Xiaomi, which did not experience such problems since the beginning of the year. Against the background of decreasing sales of smartphones, the supply of push-button phones showed a steady growth – for the specified period, 3.3 million gadgets were implemented.
Following the results of the third quarter, Samsung restored leadership in the smartphone market, and Xiaomi ranked second. These companies have a share of 34 and 26 percent, respectively. At the third position with a share of 15 percent turned out to be Apple.
“Supplies in the fourth quarter are usually the most significant at the end of the year. However, the situation with the lack of components is likely to continue,” the manager of research programs Natalya Vinogradova summed up.
previously became known that in Russia a shortage of a number of popular Apple phone models were formed. So, there is a shortage of devices of the last line of the iPhone 13, as well as the previous iPhone 12 series.
